Runners from Wolf Point, Poplar, Brockton and Frazer turned out strong performances at the Frazer Invitational held on Thursday, Sept. 26. Poplar took fourth place and Brockton earned fifth in the team standings. Harlem topped the field with nine points. Harlem’s Ethan Walker finished in first place with a time of 16:41.05. The Wolf Point Wolves and Poplar Indians each competed at the state girls’ flag football tournament held in Bozeman on Thursday, Sept. 26, and Friday, Sept. 27. The Indians opened play with a 22-14 victory over Butte on Thursday. Poplar then lost to a strong Lockwood squad, 27-14, in the quarter-final round on Friday. The Indians gained an 8-6 lead in the game but trailed 15-8 at the half.

The Wolf Point Wolves improved throughout the match but lost to a solid Malta volleyball team by a 13-25, 8-25, 21-25, margin on Saturday, Sept. 21. Malta accounted for the match’s opening 10 points. Poplar’s defense turned in a standout effort in its 24-6 home loss against Forsyth on Friday, Sept. 20. The football game featured a storm delay of an hour and half.
