The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office responded to 61 cases from Jan. 2-7. Jan. 2 Deputies received a complaint from a Wolf Point woman regarding a protection order violation. She said she was being harassed on social media. The deputies took the complaint. Deputies assisted the Wolf Point Police after receiving information of a suicide threat at the river. Cerra Anne Pipe has made not guilty pleas to charges in U.S. District Court. The charges include possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and distribution of fentanyl. Roosevelt County and County Attorney Janet Christoffersen are disagreeing in court about the enforceability of a resolution and other issues. Resolution 2024-2, which was approved on July 25, 2023, set the county attorney’s salary at $119,215.60 and deputy county attorney’s salary at 85 percent of the county attorney’s pay. According to the Valley County Sheriff’s Office, four people have been arrested over an incident that took place in Roosevelt and Valley counties Saturday evening and Sunday morning, Jan. 6-7. Clayton Vine, coordinator of Roosevelt County’s Geographical Information System’s department, discussed his concerns with the wage scale for his duties during a meeting on Jan. 2.
