Two more amendments to agenda items for the December Fish and Wildlife Commission meeting are available for public review online. The first amendment looks to change the hunting district boundary in 313 just north of Yellowstone National Park. This is a deer and elk hunting district and the proposed change would add a portion of HD 314 into HD 313. Commissioner Susan Brooke proposed the amendment.

Governor Greg Gianforte in August launched the second annual Youth Hunting Story Contest for Montana youth and apprentice hunters ages 10-17. The deadline to enter the contest is Monday, November 27, 2023. To enter the contest, hunters must submit a story of no more than 500 words and a photo from their 2023 hunt. Hunters must be a Montana resident and a licensed hunter or apprentice hunter

Fort Peck Community College is offering HiSet testing Friday, Dec. 8, in Poplar at the James E. Shanley Tribal Library. The test time will be 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The HiSET is a High School Equivalency credential accepted by every state, territory and jurisdiction, as well as by the U.S. Department of Education, the U.S. military and federal programs.
