Amysue Hunter spoke to attendees of the Fort Peck Tribes Mental Health Summit March 28 at the Wolf Point Community Center. Hunter spoke to an array of visiting healthcare professionals and community members about the loss of her son, Cody J. Baum, who took his own life Oct. 1. “We need to do better,” Hunter told those assembled. A full day of speakers was presented by Care Solace, a social purpose organization with a mission to ensure every person in need is quickly connected to a mental health, substance use or social service provider matched to their needs.
