Poplar’s girls’ basketball team enjoyed a good start and went on to defeat Wolf Point, 54-42, on Saturday, Jan. 10. The Indians held an early 7-5 and added to that when Ashlyn Bull Chief nailed a three-pointer. A free throw by Blake Follette, a drive by Jenaeya Moran and a free throw by Frankie Gourneau increased the gap 14-5. Poplar’s Braelyn Nordwick hit two free throws to end the quarter

Gorder Wins Title At Cut Bank Invitational


Wrestlers from Wolf Point and Poplar placed at the Cut Bank Booster Invite during the weeked. Wolf Point’s Cali Gorder earned the title at 100 pounds. She won all her four matches on pins. Lakealah Mays placed third at 105 pounds. She won three matches on pins. Paisley Bruner took fifth at 130 pounds. She earned one victory by a pin and another on a decision. Poplar’s Alara Cooper

Culbertson’s streets will soon be sporting a new identity. The city fathers have purchased new, large, bright street signs that have a green background with white lettering. The nine-inch high, 36-inch long metal signs will also sport new brackets. The old signs, which have been in place for many years, had a white background with dark letters.
