Culbertson Students Earn Math Honors


Students from Culbertson Public Schools traveled to Sidney to participate in this year’s regional MCTM math meet on March 10. Students in grades 7-12 competed in the contest. Students took a multiple choice test, a numerical response test and a team test. Each test is grade specific and divided into 9-10 and 11-12 tests. The scores of the multiple choice and numerical response tests are combined

Leslie Deane “Deane” Flagen, 77, died April 11, 2026, at Roosevelt Medical Center in Culbertson. He was born on July 9, 1949, in Williston, N.D., to Forrest and Viola Flagen. He spent much of his childhood on the family farm just west of Froid, where he attended Froid Public Schools and graduated from Froid High School in 1967. Phyllis Jean Johnson, 95, of Plentywood died March 21, 2026. She was born May 14, 1930 to Leora (Fitzer) and Arthur Lester in Plentywood. Her parents' families settled near Welliver and Daleview from Indiana and Illinois in the 1910s. She was the oldest of six children and helped around the place, feeding animals and siblings, tending the farm buildings and house, gardening, cooking, canning

Culbertson’s golfers had a successful home meet at the Cottonwood Country Club in Glendive on Thursday, April 17. The Cowboys placed second in the team standings. Top golfers for Culbertson were Wyatt Martin by shooting a 100 and Noah Martin with a 103. Other scores for the Cowboys were Glenn Sager at 103, Felixe Becker at 119, Dakota Bigler at 124 and CeJaye Flinn at 134. Kinley

Wolf Point Hosts Class B Teams For Golf Invitational


The Wolf Point Wolves hosted the 10-team Wolf Point Invitational at the Wolf Point Airport Golf Course on Saturday, April 18. Leading Wolf Point’s boys was Jesse Reed with a round of 101 to tie for 28th place. William Schwarzrock and Conway Turcotte each shot 113s to tie for 36th place. Aaryn Hamilton placed 40th at 118. Poplar’s Lukas Young tied for seventh place with an 85.
