Wolves Finish Well In Poplar
Wolf Point’s Gorder sisters finished in the top two spots for the girls’ division as the Wolves enjoyed a good day at the Poplar Invitational cross country meet on Friday, Sept. 4.
Cali Gorder, a freshman, captured top honors with a time of 22:07.5.
“It wasn’t what I wanted, but it was still good,” Cali said after the race.
As also a member of Wolf Point’s varsity volleyball squad, she usually completes her running assignments right after school and then heads to volleyball practice.
Caydee Gorder, an eighth-grader, finished second with a time of 22:28.5.
Cali believes her younger sister can post even better times as the season progresses.
“I actually want her to run with me, not behind me,” Cali said.
Wolf Point’s Layla Headdress placed 12th with a time of 25:31.3. Shoni Blount had a time of 35:58.7 for 49th place.
In the boys’ division, the Wolves placed third with a team score of 58 points. Poplar topped the standings with 28 points.
Wolf Point’s Kolter Berglee finished in fourth place at 19:14.2. Reilly Rees also earned top 10 honors with a time of 19:44.5 for ninth place.
Keydon Beston ran the course in 20:05.5 for 12th place.
Kayeiko Villaluz had a time of 21:00.5 for 19th place. Andrew Williamson took 32nd at 23:02.5. Kevin Brook was 50th at 26:17.0.
Brockton
Daniel Segubiense led Brockton’s boys with a 16th place finish at 20:48.0.
Tefton Bear finished 28th at 21:51.6.
Preston Beston took 30th at 22:32.2. CoDean Big Eagle was 40th at 25:01.5.
In the girls’ division, Brockton’s BraeLynn De-Marrias ran the course in 25:09.1 for 10th place.
Madalyn Fish posted a time of 28:01.4 for 23rd place.
Also placing for Brockton’s girls were Dacia Youpee in 50th in 1:29.46 and Reese Decoteaun in 51st at 2:06.33.
Frazer
Leading Frazer’s girls were Anevay Daniels with a time of 33:00.9 for 44th place, Elli Mail with a time of 33:46.5 for 45th place and Landyn Rattling Thunder with a time of 34:01.6 for 47th place.
Bethany Hotomanie ran a time of 36:49.3 for 52nd place.
Ronald Round Face posted a time of 31:34.5 for 58th place in the boys’ division.
