Red Hawks Fall To Richey/Lambert

The boys’ basketball season for Froid/Lake came to an end with a 65-28 loss against Richey/Lambert at the District 2C tournament on Thursday, Feb. 19.

A 17-footer by Eddie Orozco and a three-pointer by Carson Kelm kept the Red Hawks close in the first quarter, but they trailed 15-9 at the end of the period.

A turnaround shot by Kelm put the margin at 17-11 early in the second period. The Fusion then accounted for 19 of the next 21 points for a 36-13 advantage. Trace Fulton scored eight points and Quaid Marshall tallied six points during the streak.

The Red Hawks ended the half on a three-pointer by Kelm, a free throw by Easton Marottek and two free tosses by E. Orozco to cut the margin to 36-19. Richey/Lambert opened the second half with the first seven points. The Fusion outscored Froid/Lake, 17-3, in the third quarter for a 53-22 margin.

Top scorers for the Red Hawks were Kelm with 10 and E. Orozco with seven points.

Also scoring were Carson Aasheim with four, Aaron Orozco with three, Jhett Davidson with two, Marottek with one and Kline Fossum with one.
