Gordon Oelkers has filed to seek his third term as Roosevelt County commissioner representing District I. He has served in that position for 10 years and says he is committed to serving the east side of the county.

“During my time as commissioner, I have gained valuable experience in budgeting, maintaining a responsible county budget and improving services,” Oelkers said.

His current goals include acquiring the Army National Guard facility in Culbertson to be used by the Culbertson Fire Department and as an event center.

Highlights of Oelkers’ second term in office have included being elected president of the Montana Association of Counties. “That experience has provided insight and relationships that benefit Roosevelt County,” he said.
