Bulldogs Come Up Short To Fusion
Bainville’s girls’ basketball team was outscored in the second half and lost at home against Richey/Lambert, 4741, on Friday, Feb. 6.
The Bulldogs earned a 9-4 lead in the first quarter and held an 18-15 half-time advantage.
Richey/Lambert went ahead, 25-23, in the third quarter.
The Bulldogs gained a lead when Hailey Berwick accounted for the first six points of the fourth quarter on two free throws, a coastto- coast drive and a 12-footer.
The Fusion, however, responded with the next eight points on a basket by Chelsi Hill, a three-pointer by Brynne Hill, a free throw by Tayen Carda and a drive by Jolee Klempel for a 33-29 lead with 3:31 remaining.
After Bainville’s Jodi Albus hit a 12-footer, three-pointers by Brylie Huft and B. Hill helped the Fusion take a 41-31 advantage.
Two baskets by Berwick kept the Bulldogs close at 4135 with 1:35 left, but Richey/ Lambert stayed ahead down the stretch on free throws by Huft, Klempel and Carda.
Berwick scored 22 points to lead the Bulldogs. Also scoring were Albus with five, Addison Hansen with four, Chandi Johnson with four, Jaylynn Bjorge with three and Lila Butikofer with three.
Leading the Fusion were Klempel with 17 and B. Hill with 14 points.
