The 2024 Statewide Certified Youth Fair Goat Carcass results were released and local youth proved that we continue to have high value animals in northeastern Montana. Raising and showing their market goats at the Roosevelt County Fair is a highlight of their 4-H/FFA year, but that recently got a little sweeter with both Keira Stentoft of the Froid FFA and Tenley Berwick of the Centennial Clovers

Conservation Leases Gaining Steam In State

When the Habitat Conservation Lease Program started two years ago, Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks set a goal of conserving 500,000 acres within five years. Glasgow Couple Can Sue DPHHS Workers In Federal Court

A Glasgow couple that had their child removed by employees from the State of Montana’s Child and Family Services have cleared their first legal hurdle in federal court with charges that those same employees engaged in “judicial deception” in order to convince a state court judge to remove the child to psychiatric care and later transfer her to the care of another parent living in Canada.

Brockton’s boys’ basketball team stepped up in the second half to edge Culbertson, 64-55, at home on Saturday, Feb. 8. The Cowboys trailed 19-16 at the end of the first quarter, but the score was deadlocked at 30-30 at the half. Brockton scored 16 points in the third period for a 4641 advantage. The Warriors then accounted for 18 points in the fourth period to earn the conference victory.

The Frazer Bearcubs knocked off Dodson, 49-31, in girls’ basketball action on Saturday, Feb. 8. The Bearcubs jumped out to a 13-2 lead in the first quarter and increased the gap to 32-9 at the half.
