Poplar’s volleyball team dropped two close league matches during the week. The Indians fell to Fairview, 10-25, 24-26, 18-25, at home on Thursday, Sept. 4. Poplar’s Braelyn Nordwick finished with four kills. Lilliana O’Neal had two blocks. Serving two aces each were Carsyn Fourbear and Frankie Gourneau. Indians Drop Match To Scobey


The Poplar Indians lost at home against a strong Scobey volleyball squad by a 5-25, 12-25, 11-25, final on Tuesday, Sept. 2. After losing the first set, the Indians took a 3-1 lead in the second set. Runners Place At Poplar Invitational


Cross country athletes from Culbertson/Bainville and Froid/Lake were among the competitors at the Poplar Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 6. In the boys’ division, Cal Steppler of Culbertson/Bainville placed fourth with a time of 19:06.32. Also placing for Culbertson/ Bainville were Arlie Purvis in 19th at 22:11.07, Gunner Glas in 30th at 23:53.07 and Logan Telck in 31st at 24:21.78.
