Bainville held off Terry, 4240, during non-conference girls’ basketball play in Bainville on Friday, Dec. 19.

The Bulldogs led by a 31-25 margin after the third quarter and increased the margin to 34-25 on a free throw by Addison Hansen along with a steal and drive by Lila Butikofer.

Terry got back into the game when consecutive three-pointers by Carmen Lacquement and Ashley Eaton closed the gap to 34-31.

Bainville’s Hansen responded with a three-pointer at the 4:21 mark, but Terry tallied the next three points.

A basket by Jodi Albus on an inbounds play and a free throw by Hailey Berwick put the Bulldogs ahead by a 40-34 margin with only 41 seconds to play.

Lacquement fired in another three-pointer for the Terriers. After a free throw by Butikofer, Eaton made a three-pointer off the backboard to pull Terry to 41-40 with 19 seconds remaining.

Berwick connected on a free throw with seven seconds left for a 42-40 score. Terry was called for a traveling violation with only a second left in the non-conference game.

Berwick led the Bulldogs with 18 points. Also scoring were Albus with eight, Bjorge with six, Butikofer with five and Hansen with five.

Leading Terry were Eaton with 20 and Lacquement with 15 points.

The scoring of Albus and Berwick led the Bulldogs to a 12-7 advantage in the first quarter.

After Terry closed the margin to 14-13, Berwick struck for the game’s next six points including a basket off a steal by Johnna Ryder. Bainville held a 20-15 half-time advantage.
