Now in its sixth year, the Women’s Day Retreat attracted a good crowd again on Saturday, Oct. 11, at Gospel Fellowship Church in Wolf Point.

Diane Andrews is the founder of the Women Finding Rest and Renew through Christ centered retreats. She said the twice a year events have between 80-100 participants each time. Along with local women, other participants come from towns such as Plentywood, Scobey, Malta, Glasgow and Watford City, N.D.

Fee is $30 which covers lunch and other expenses.

“It’s great to have an event for women in Wolf Point,” Andrews said.

The guest speaker is always from out of the area. When the next retreat occurs in March, a women from South Africa will headline the program.

Linda Mader Reinert from Minnesota served as the guest speaker on Saturday. This was her first time in Montana. Her theme was “Broken and Beautiful.”

“It’s been beautiful,” Reinert said of her impressions of eastern Montana. “The people have been just wonderful.”

After being given a tour of Wolf Point, she said it’s a good example of her topic of some areas being beautiful and some things being broken.

She provides programs about three or four times a year. In addition, she teaches mosaic art classes at her farm home where she works with old glass and dishes.

“It takes the broken and makes it beautiful,” Reinert said of the art.

In her presentations at churches, she said she loves sharing the truth of the Gospel. She explains that she heard that we admire people for their strengths but we connect with people when they are in pain or broken.

“I connect with these people and they connect with each other,” she said. “I love that part of it.” She added that it’s important to see the life and beauty in a troubled world.
