Wolf Point Conducts National Honor Society Induction

Wolf Point’s National Honor Society induction saluted 18 junior and senior students in the auditorium on Wednesday, Oct. 8.
Existing members were Cole Boysun, Richard Campbell, Tavian Bell, Marley Moran, Lauren Rodenberg and Navella Weeks.
Students inducted on Wednesday were Sean Hamilton, Elliauna Ryan, Jayla Big Talk, Kailayla Villaluz, Maya Deserly, Nora Hansen, Reilly Rees, Aydyn Azure, Thomas Moudree, Owen Moran, Jesse Reed and Jeina Reum.
Wolf Point High School Principal Kim Hanks reminded students that the four pillars of National Honor Society are scholarship, service, leadership and character.
Andrew Vun, school district psychologist, served as the guest speaker for the induction.
Vun said that he believes that a speaker must provide truth, purpose and belief. “It’s important to believe in everything you’re saying in front of people,” he explained. Along with the National Honor Society’s four principles, Vun added two principles of his own.
His first principle was being productive. He said meetings are pointless without action. “Make a plan and carry it out,” he told students.
He also said there’s no wrong decision if you are working with the values that you want to be.
Perseverance is another principle that should play a role in students’ lives. Vun said sometime it isn’t easy, and help might be needed from others at time.
Vun encouraged students to keep going forward to meet their goals.
