Bainville Loses Away Football Contest
After a close first half, Bainville’s football team lost a road game against Custer/ Hysham/Melstone, 68-37, on Friday, Sept. 5.
Down by an early 8-0 margin, the Bulldogs pulled even on a long touchdown pass from Rowan Wilson to Parker Berwick. Austin Eveland kicked the conversion for an 8-8 deadlock.
In the second quarter, Bainville gained a lead on a touchdown throw from Wilson to Berwick. Wilson hit Holden Salivar for the conversion and a 15-8 advantage.
After a touchdown by the Rebels, the Bulldogs responded with a scoring pass from Wilson to Berwick. Eveland’s kick was good for a 2314 margin.
Two touchdowns by Custer/Hysham/Melstone resulted in a 30-23 lead for the Rebels. A long pass from Wilson to Keagan Vaira pulled the Bulldogs to 30-29 at the end of the half.
The Rebels, however, accounted for the first 38 points of the second quarter to gain a 68-29 advantage.
Bainville then scored on a long touchdown run by Salivar.
The Bulldogs will host Froid/Lake for homecoming on Saturday, Sept. 13.
