Bulldogs Take Fourth At Divisional Meet


Bainville’s girls put together a strong effort and finished a close fourth place in the Eastern C divisional track standings in Sidney on Tuesday, May 12. The Bulldogs scored 74 points at the meet.
The top three girls’ teams were Circle with 96 points, Scobey with 89 and Richey/ Lambert with 75 points.
Bainville’s 400-meter relay team broke its own school record and finished first with a time of 52.42 seconds. Running the relay were Casey Myers, Elsie Wilson, Lila Butikofer and Hailey Berwick.
Berwick finished second in the 200-meter dash at 27.56 seconds and second in the 400 at 1:00.89. The junior placed fourth in the 100 with a time of 13.21 seconds.
Wilson earned third in the triple jump with a personal best of 34-10, third in the 100 at 13.11 seconds, third in the 200 at 27.59 seconds and fifth in the long jump at 17-3.
In the discus, Addison Hansen placed second in the discus at 96-6 and Lila Butikofer took third with a personal best of 96-2.
Miah Pippenger, a senior, placed third in the shot put with a mark of 33-5.
The girls’ 1600-meter relay team featuring Myers, Butikofer, Pippenger and Berwick finished in fourth place at 4:36.42.
Bainville’s boys placed fifth in the team standings with 28 points.
Kaiden Holmes led the way for Bainville’s boys as the junior finished second in the 400 at 53.48 seconds and second in the 800 at 2:04.47. Both were personal best times.
Rowan Wilson placed fourth in the 1600 at 5:03.16 and fourth in the 800 with a personal best time of 2:08.65.
The boys’ 1600-meter relay team featuring Parker Berwick, Wilson, Austin Eveland and Holmes finished fourth with a time of 3:48.58.
