Miranda Appointed New Clerk, Recorder


Roosevelt County commissioners approved the appointment of Tracy Miranda as the county’s new clerk and recorder during a meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 2. Miranda was recommended by retiring clerk and recorder Cheryl Hansen for the position. Hansen worked for the county for 42 years and nine months including 30 years as the clerk and recorder. “Put a big thank you in the minutes for her service,”

Oelkers To Continue As Commission’s Presiding Officer


Gordon Oelkers will continue to serve as the presiding officer for the Roosevelt County Commission. This will be Oelkers’ third straight year serving in the position. Commissioner Gary Macdonald made the motion to have Oelkers be the presiding officer.
