A severe weather thunderstorm warning was issued for Saturday evening by the National Weather Service team in Glasgow, directed at communities from Fort Peck, Frazer and Lustre eastward to Bainville and the North Dakota border. Releases from Fort Peck gradually began increasing on Monday, June 17, to reach a peak flow of 20,000 cubic feet per second at Wolf Point on Sunday, June 23. These releases will include flows from the Fort Peck spillway. Bainville Council Approves Interlocal, Building Permits

The regular meeting of the Bainville Town Council was held their on June 10. Present were Mayor Toby Romo and council members Carol Rasmussen, Will Rathbun and John Gilligan. Also present were clerk Billie Jo Cochran and guests Cora Norton, Darrell Rasmussen and Darin Hannum. Discussion was held on the new Interlocal Law Enforcement agreement with the Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office. RCSO

Tester Seeks To Overturn Nursing Home Mandate

U.S. Sen. Jon Tester, D-Mont, has joined Republican colleagues in introducing a Congressional Review Act resolution to overturn the Biden Administration’s first-ever minimum staffing mandate for nursing homes that was finalized last month. A Congressional Review Act resolution is an oversight tool Congress may use to overturn final rules issued by federal agencies by a simple majority vote.
