Wolves Drop Opening Contests
Wolf Point’s boys’ basketball squad lost both of its games at the season-opening tournament in Lewistown during the weekend.
The Wolves fell to Red Lodge by a 74-39 final on Friday, Dec. 6.
Red Lodge jumped out to a 23-11 lead in the first quarter and held a 38-21 half-time advantage.
Red Lodge outscored the Wolves by a 20-9 margin in the third quarter.
Rebel Mays led the Wolves with 12 points including two three-pointers in the final period. Zandon Calder finished with 10 points.
Sean Hamilton and Richard Campbell each added five points. Also scoring were Cole Holen with three, Roper Flaten with two and Jett Azure with two.
Columbus defeated Wolf Point by a 76-42 final on Saturday, Dec. 7.
Columbus led 17-10 after the first quarter and 39-24 at the half.
The Cougars increased the margin to 60-31 in the third quarter.
Calder led Wolf Point’s attack with 13 points. Hamilton had 10 points. Campbell and Mays finished with nine points.
Also scoring was Azure with two.
