Proposed Safety Improvements On Powder River Road
The Montana Department of Transportation announces and invites the public to comment on a proposal to improve about 2.5 miles of Powder River Road, north of Wolf Point.
The project begins at the intersection with Road 2059, and extends south, ending near the intersection with Road 2061.
Proposed work includes flattening side slopes and addressing any affected drainages. The purpose of the project is to reduce the severity of roadway departure crashes in the area.
Construction is tentatively planned for 2029 depending on completion of design and availability of funds. Rightof- way acquisition or temporary construction permits will likely be required for this project. Relocation of utilities may also be necessary. Landowners may be contacted again prior to construction regarding new right-of-way or temporary permits.
Partnering with the community is an important part of properly planning for future projects. MDT welcomes the public to provide ideas and comments on the proposed project. Comments may be submitted online at mdt.mt.gov/contact/comment- form.aspxor in writing to Montana Department of Transportation, Glendive office, PO Box 890, Glendive, MT 59330-0890. Please note that comments are for project UPN 10350000.
The public is encouraged to contact Glendive District Preconstruction Engineer Jim Frank at 406-345-8214 or Project Design Engineer Sabastian Lucio at 406-345-8243 with questions or comments about the project.
