Poplar Wrestlers Earn Championships At Eagle Invitational Poplar Wrestlers Earn Championships At Eagle Invitational

 

Two Poplar wrestlers captured titles during the Eagle Invitational held in Sidney during the weekend.

Angelina Escarcega won the championship at 100 pounds. The senior pinned Huntley Project’s Gracie Bingen in 1:33 in the title match. Escarcega won two other matches at the meet.

Liberty Boadle earned the title at 105 pounds. Boadle pinned Glendive’s Brooklyn Ackerman in 1:07 for the title. Boadle won four other matches, including three on pins, at the tournament.

Blake Follette placed second at 120 pounds. After winning two matches, Follette was pinned in the championship match against a wrestler from Rapid City, S.D.

Alara Parshall took fourth at 110 pounds. She earned three victories at the tournament.

Masina Youpee placed seventh at 135 pounds.

In the boys’ division, Navarjo Escarcega placed sixth at 138 pounds.

At the JV level, Mickey Failing took first at 126.

Other JVs placing were Da’Sean Red Eagle in fourth at 150, Memphis Mathison in fifth at 126, Rollen Spotted Bull in sixth at heavyweight, Greyson Cuellar in sixth at 144 and Jayden Eder in sixth at 157.
