Bulldogs Roll To Victory Over Terry


After an up-and-down first half, Bainville rolled to a 4624 opening-season victory over Terry in girls’ basketball play in Glasgow on Friday, Dec. 6.
The Bulldogs led by only a 19-14 half-time margin but took control with the first 10 points of the third quarter. A free throw by Elsie Wilson and a steal and layup by Hailey Berwick started the streak. After drives by Wilson and H. Berwick for baskets, Addison Hansen hit two free throws and H. Berwick added a free toss for a 29-14 advantage.
Terry’s first basket of the third quarter came on a drive by Ashley Eaton with 1:52 left in the period. Five straight points by H. Berwick put the Bulldogs up 33-16 to end the quarter.
Bainville started off the fourth period strong as a 14-footer by Tally Berwick, an inside shot by Hansen and a baseline jumper by Wilson increased the margin to 3916.
Miah Pippenger hit a three-pointer and Hansen scored another basket to put the margin at 44-17 with 2:41 remaining.
Top scorers for the Bulldogs were H. Berwick with 14 and Wilson with 13 points. Also scoring were Hansen with eight, T. Berwick with five, Pippenger with three and Chandi Johnson with three.
Eaton and Kiera Chaska led Terry with eight points each.
Bainville opened the game with the first 17 points and held a 17-3 advantage at the end of the quarter. Wilson led the attack with eight points in the period.
The Bulldogs held a 19-5 advantage in the second quarter, but Terry accounted for the last nine points of the half.
