Brockton Girls Expect To Move Up In Standings

Brockton’s girls’ basketball squad has a lot of optimism entering the 20242025 season.
The Warriors have 13 players out for the sport. “It’s good, numbers are good,” Coach Shawn De-Marrias said.
Starters back for Brockton include Marlene Fish, Ava Lone Bear, Tamryn Bauer and Claire Clampitt.
Bauer was a second team All-Conference selection last year.
“I have pretty much four returning starters and a couple of transfers to help the girls out,” DeMarrias, who is assisted by Nichole Lone Bear, said. “We should be pretty good, but it’s early.”
The Warriors have been working a lot together during the summer and are solid as a group. “There’s a lot of team bonding,” DeMarrias said.
He feels the District 2C league will be very competitive.
“We’re definitely fighting for seeding so every game is important to us,” DeMarrias said. “We will take it one game at a time.”
The Warriors will open their season with games against Two Eagle River and Northern Cheyenne at the All-American Indian Shoot-out in Billings on Dec. 6-7.
