Area Runners Fight Wind During Glasgow Meet
Poplar earned second place in both the boys’ and girls’ standings at the Glasgow Invitational held in Fort Peck on Saturday, Oct. 5.
Poplar’s boys took second with 42 points while Harlem won the meet with 39 points. Glasgow placed third with 54 points.
Harlem’s freshman Ethan Walker led the field with a time of 16:11.4.
Poplar’s Elijin Grey Bear finished third at 18:00.5.
Wilder Bearcub of Poplar placed sixth at 18:34.2. Teammate Isaac Irizarry was seventh at 18:39.3.
Jayden Eder, an eighth-grader, was 16th at 19:11.6. Navarjo Escarcega placed 25th at 19:49.6.
Raylando Red Eagle placed 31st at 20:36.7.
Wolf Point’s Rebel Mays ran to a 26th place showing with a time of 19:52.3.
Reilly Rees of Wolf Point placed 34th at 21:14.8.
Ezekiel Payne was 58th with a time of 24:56.4.
Brockton’s Miles Boxer Jr. finished 18th at 19:20.6. Teammate Joshua Fire moon was close behind in 20th place at 19:36.6.
Daniel Segubiense was 57th at 24:44.7.
Gabe Beston led Frazer with a time of 18:54.6 for 10th place.
Frazer’s Bryce Fourstar finished 50th at 23:09.2. Cassius Smoker took 54th at 24:12.1.
In the girls’ division, Glasgow topped the standings with 38 points followed by Poplar with 57 points. Brockton was fourth with 114 points.
Chinook’s Alexus Seymour was the winner on the girls’ side with a time of 19:59.9.
Poplar’s eighth-grader Journey Gourneau finished fourth with a time of 21:05.9.
Poplar’s Mattie Falls Down took 15th at 22:44.5. Teammate Cammie Martell was 16th at 22:58.0.
Alare Cooper earned 19th place at 23:15.6. Kellyn Azure was 20th at 23:42.4.
Kelbee Redstone placed 36th at 26:14.5.
Wolf Point’s Lakealah Mays finished in 28th place with a time of 24:56.5.
Braelynn Demarrias, a freshman, led Brockton with an 11th place showing at 22:32.3.
Tamryn Bauer of Brockton took 31st at 25:12.6. Taylor Cummins took 35th at 26:07.4.
Skylar Cummins was 39th at 26:38.8. Jade Olney took 50th at 28:36.6. Marlene Fish finished 52nd at 28:48.6. Mackenzie Jones was 54th at 29:17.0.
Frazer’s Brianna Beston finished 30th with a time of 25:11.8.
Noli Sibley took 41st at 26:51.4. Elli Mail placed 56th at 29:52.8.
