Spring Coaches Receive Honors For Seasons


The Montana Coaches Association has announced its Coaches of the Year for spring 2024.

Savage’s Nicki Reuter and Roberts’ Melissa Bertolino shared the honor for Class C girls’ track.

Other winners for girls’ track were Helena’s Jesse Zentz in Class AA, Corvallis’ Spencer Huls in Class A and Missoula Loyola’s Justin Johnston in Class B.

Selected for boys’ track were Bozeman Gallatin’s Chantel Jaeger-Smith in Class AA, Corvallis’ Huls in Class A, Jefferson’s Sarah Layng in Class B and Belt’s Renzi Horton in Class C.

Recipients for girls’ golf were Plentywood’s Andy Alley in Class C and Florence-Carlton’s Scott Marsh in Class B. Winners in boys’ golf were Jefferson’s Anna De-Mars in Class B and Manhattan Christian’s Tom Hubers in Class C.

Selections for girls’ tennis included Missoula Hellgate’s Brian Hanford in Class AA, Billings Central’s Danielle Lee in Class A and Chinook’s Janelle Deanon in Class B/C. Picked for boys’ tenni-s were Great Falls CMR’s Byron Boyd in Class AA, Billings Central’s Stephen Gruener in Class A and Missoula Loyola’s Patti Danforth in Class B/C.

John Hinsdale of Florence/ Carlton was Coach of the Year for baseball.

Coaches selected for softball included Helena Capital’s Mike Miller in Class AA, Columbia Falls’ Dave Kehr in Class A and Shepherd’s Lori Goodell in Class B/C.
