Peterson Receives Athletic Director Award Peterson Receives Athletic Director Award

Wolf Point’s athletic director Eric Peterson has been selected the Northeast Montana’s Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association’s athletic director of the year.

He received the honor during the association’s spring meeting held in Wolf Point last week.

Committee chair Dave Solem of Culbertson noted that Peterson is a pleasure to work with and he performs many duties at his school. He is also a football official. Peterson has served as the association’s treasurer for many years.

During the meeting, officials reminded to have students apply for the $250 Northeast MIAAA scholarship. For more information, contact Melissa Sanders of Savage High School.

Different school representatives noted that various basketball tournaments have gone very well. Peterson reported the District 2B tournament consisted of four games each day during a four-day period. He said starting at 3 p.m. each day was beneficial.

Glasgow’s Brenner Flaten said that having the District 3C tournament last four days went well and had few interruptions to Glasgow’s school day.

Kara Triplett of Richey/ Lambert said the District 2C tournament in Sidney also enjoyed success during a five-day span. Games didn’t start until 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday so that made it easier for Sidney to host the tournament. The championship and consolation title games all were held on Saturday.

Melissa Sanders of Savage added that she likes the District 2C format because students missed less school time.
