Cowgirls Drop Game Against Poplar


Poplar’s girls’ basketball team used a strong second quarter to beat Culbertson, 64-54, on Tuesday, Jan. 23.

After leading 13-11 at the end of the first quarter, the Indians accounted for 17 points in the second quarter for a 30-17 half-time advantage. The Indians led 50-38 after three quarters of play.

Top scorers for Poplar were Kessee Erickson with 17, Rikki Belton with 16 and Cammie Martell with 10 points.

Also scoring were Sadee Archambeault with seven EmmaRae Martell with six, Mattie Falls Down with six and Braelyn Nordwick with two points.

Culbertson’s Ayden Ator hit five three-pointers and finished with 20 points. Mariana Burciaga added 13 points.

Leandra Perkins scored nine points. Destiny Thompson, Ivy Colvin and Emma Berwick had four points each.
