Froid/Lake Sweeps Games Against MonDak

Froid/Lake’s girls’ basketball team overcame a slow start to beat MonDak, 34-29, on Saturday, Jan. 20.

After falling behind 9-1 in the first quarter, the Red Hawks trailed 17-7 at the half.

Froid/Lake struck for 15 points in the third quarter for a 22-22 deadlock. Brooklynn Nordwick scored six points in the period.

The Red Hawks then outscored MonDak by a 12-7 margin in the fourth period. Mara Salvevold and Isabelle Nordwick each tallied four points in the quarter.

Top scorers for Froid/Lake were Salvevold with nine, B. Nordwick with eight, Lilly Johnson with eight and I. Nordwick with seven. Avery Johnson added two points.

Leading the Thunder were Everlynn Lowes with eight and Abby Lowes with seven points.

Froid/Lake’s boys’ basketball squad downed MonDak, 50-42, on Saturday, Jan. 20.

The Red Hawks jumped out to a 14-7 lead in the first quarter and enjoyed a 32-15 half-time advantage. Mason Dethman scored 18 points in the first half.

MonDak cut the margin to 37-24 in the third quarter.

Dethman finished with 28 points. Landon Kelm scored eight points.

Also scoring for Froid/ Lake were Nate Stentoft with five, Joseph Robertson with four, Rylan Young with three and Daniel Forizs with two points.

Leading the Thunder were Dilan Wade with 17 and Elliot Rudningen with 12 points.
