Silk Works For Success At School

Wolf Point High School senior Kraven Silk finds the most at home on the basketball court. Although he is a threesport athlete, Silk says that basketball is certainly his favorite athletic activity. “I grew up playing the sport at a young age,” the honor roll student explained. “It brings a nice bond with familiar faces.” In track, Silk likes to compete in sprints and relays.

Work Going Well At County Attorney’s Office

Operations are running very smoothly in the Roosevelt County attorney’s office as interim county attorney Janet Christoffersen completed her third week in office last week. “It’s going great,” Christoffersen said. “We have an incredible staff. The transition has been easy for me.” Thomas Bleicher started as the county’s deputy county attorney at the start of the new year.

The state’s surplus appears like it will result in more money in some taxpayers’ pockets and additional funds in needed programs throughout Montana. Roosevelt County Commissioner Gordon Oelkers said the goal should be to invest funds in areas that will be around for 30 years plus provide some tax relief. Oelkers noted departments such as mental health and the prison systems are in need
