Despite a strong comeback, the Froid/Lake Red Hawks fell against Jordan during loser- out action at the Eastern C divisional volleyball tournament in Sidney on Friday, Nov. 3.

Jordan won the match by a 25-18, 25-19, 25-22 final.

The Red Hawks fell behind early in the first set, but kills by Isabelle Nordwick closed the margin to 13-12. A kill by Jaeleigh Davidson tied the match at 13-13.

A block by Lilly Johnson and a kill by Davidson helped the Red Hawks keep the score even at 16-16. A kill by Mara Salvevold put the Red Hawks in the lead at 17-16.

The Red Hawks held an 18-17 advantage, but Jordan struck for the final eight points of the first set.

In the second set, the Red Hawks trailed by a 14-6 margin until kills by Salvevold and Davidson cut the gap to 14-9.

Froid/Lake kept battling with a kill by Salvevold and a tip by Addison Elvsaas. A pair of aces by I. Nordwick pulled the Red Hawks to 19-16.

The Red Hawks stayed alive on kills by Johnson and Davidson, but the Mustangs won the second set by a 2519 final.

Froid/Lake trailed by a 1912 score in the third set, but serves by Salvevold kept the Red Hawks in the contest.

After Jordan earned a 2316 advantage, the Red Hawks struck for six straight points including an ace by Elvsaas, a net play by Brooklyn Nordwick and kills by Salvevold.

Jordan accounted for the final two points for a 25-22 victory.

Salvevold led Froid/Lake’s attack with 12 kills.

Elvsaas accounted for 17 assists.

I. Nordwick served two aces. L. Johnson had a block.

Broadus defeated North Country in the championship match of the divisional tournament. Both teams will play at the Class C state tournament in Bozeman starting Thursday, Nov. 9. Circle placed third at the divisional tourney.
