Area Runners Compete At Brockton Invitational

The Brockton Invitational featured quality athletes from area schools including Scobey, Brockton, Frazer, Lustre and Wolf Point on Saturday, Sept. 19.

In the boys’ division, Scobey and Brockton each finished with 20 points to top the standings.

The Scobey Spartans earned team honors in the girls’ division with 17 points.

Individual champions were Culbertson’s Anna Steppler with a time of 22:35.7 and Cal Steppler with a time of 19:37.8.

Scobey

Scobey’s boys were led by sophomore Delbert Sones with a second-place finish at 20:23.5. Carter Lekvold placed 11th at 21:10.1 Thor Lund, an eighth-grader, finished 17th at 22:50.1. Bryce Handran was 20th at 23:25.5.

Jack Williams took 22nd at 23:40.5, Easton Fladager was 24th at 24:10.6 and Heath Cahill placed 25th at 24:31.7.

Two runners earned top 10 honors for Scobey’s girls. Hailey Johnson finished in fifth place at 24:39.9. Esmeralda Sones placed sixth at 25:16.2.

Merlina Kramer captured 14th place at 28:01.6. Shelby Cole placed 30th at 30:49.7. Ashtynn Fladager was 36th at 31:29.5 Brockton

Madalyn Fish and Brae-Lynn DeMarrias each placed in the top 10 for Brockton’s girls. Fish ran the course in 25:45.0 for eighth and DeMarrias had a time of 26:33.2 for ninth.

Jade Olney finished with a time of 33:05.5 for 43rd place and Dacia Youpee was 44th at 33:10.5. Azalea Clampitt took 46th at 35:12.9. Reese Decoteau was 47th at 36:08.6.

Leading Brockton’s boys were Daniel Segubiense in fifth place at 20:31.2 and Tefton Bear in seventh place at 20:43.6.

Preston Beston finished in 13th place at 21:25.9. Co-Dean Big Eagle took 27th at 25:17.6. Bree Olney was 33rd at 26:13.6. Also placing were Lahmi Youngman in 44th at 38:39.3 and Charlie Firemoon in 45th at 38:39.9.

Wolf Point

Cali Gorder earned second place in the girls’ division with a time of 23:04.3. Caydee Gorder took third at 23:47.2.

In the boys’ division, Kevin Brock ran the course in 26:00.1 for 31st place. Dane Follet had a time of 37:48.7 for 43rd place.

Frazer

Frazer’s senior Gabe Beston posted a time of 21:05.4 for 10th-place honors at the meet.

Ronald Round Face had a time of 33:03.3 for 41st place.

In the girls’ division, Anevay Daniels earned 24th place at 29:56.1.

Bethany Hotomanie took 32nd at 31:06.5. Eli Mail was 37th at 32:02.5.

Landyn Rattling Thunder placed 39th at 32:04.6.

Lustre

Lustre Christian’s Coleman Hilkemann finished with a time of 20:41.9 for sixth place.

In the girls’ division, Skylar Cummins had a time of 30”32.4 for 27th place.

Teams will compete at the Frazer Invitational on Thursday, Sept. 24.
