Lions Sweep Contests Against Frazer

 

Lustre Christian swept basketball contests at Frazer on Saturday, Feb. 4.

In the girls’ game, the Lions earned a 63-45 league victory.

The Lions jumped out to an 18-9 lead in the first quarter. Lustre held a 35-16 halftime advantage.

The Lions struck for 17 points in the third quarter to grab a 52-30 lead.

Alexa Reddig accounted for 31 points for Lustre. Also reaching double figures were Grace Brown with 16 and Aubri Holzrichter with 12 points. Hannah Brown and Hope Marottek added two points each.

Baily Beston led the Bearcubs with 18 points.

Rounding out the scoring for Frazer were Audrey Smoker with nine, Angelina White with eight, Angel Nelligan with five, Isabelle Even with three and Lianna Jackson with two points.

Lustre’s boys won by a 7712 final.

The Lions led 26-7 at the end of the first quarter and 57-7 at the half.

Lustre increased the margin to 70-10 in the third quarter.

Lustre’s Braden Ewing scored 10 points to lead the Lions.

Also scoring were Terran Joseph with nine, Cayden Klatt with eight, Clay Reddig with seven, Prestyn Klatt with seven, Alex Chen with seven, Nathan Fast with six, Cam Reddig with five, Bryan Chen with four, Jasiah Hambira with four, Diek Olfert with three, Johnslee Pierre with three, Elijah Lenihan with two and Bryon Ewing with two.

Scoring for Frazer were Joseph Beston with seven, Jarvis Goodbird with three and Travis Long with two points.
