Cowgirls Score Opening Victory

Culbertson’s girls basketball team opened its season with a 67-20 victory in Brockton on Friday, Dec. 2.

The Cowgirls took a 12-3 lead in the first quarter as Destiny Thompson scored six of the points.

Culbertson then ran off 23 points in the second quarter to gain a 35-9 half-time advantage. Makena Hauge accounted for 14 points in the quarter.

Culbertson held a 46-19 lead after three quarters of play.

Top scorers for the Cowgirls were Hauge with 24, Thompson with 16 and Megan Granbois with 15 points.

Perla Burciaga finished with six points. Adding two points each were Ayden Ator, Ivy Colvin and Marrianna Burciaga.

Tamryn Bauer led Brockton with seven points. Jasalyn Lambert and Ava Lone Bear added four points each.
