Junior High, Elementary Track Athletes Win Honors At District Meet

 

Track athletes from Culbertson, Bainville and Froid/ Lake enjoyed success at the junior high and elementary District 2C track meet held in Fairview on Monday, May 16.

Culbertson scored 41 points for middle school boys for third place, 32 points for boys’ elementary for sixth place, 16 points for middle school girls for eighth place and 40 points for elementary girls for fifth place.

Josh Firemoon led the way for Culbertson’s middle school boys as he took first in the 400 with a time of 59.61 seconds, sixth in the 100 and sixth in the 200.

Plenny Williams earned first in the discus at 122-11.

Brooks Solem placed sixth and Will Salvevold took seventh in the 400. Solem finished fourth and Aden Drake placed sixth in the 200-meter hurdles. Solem was sixth and Berwick took ninth in the discus.

Jonas York finished sixth and Salvevold took eighth in the 800. Tyler Friede was sixth and York took seventh in the 1600. Solem placed fifth in the long jump.

Plenny Williams placed fifth and Logan Berwick took seventh in the shot put.

The 400-meter relay team of Firemoon, Williams, Friede and Solem finished third.

For Culbertson’s elementary boys, Conway First That Walks finished first in the 400 at 1:08.64 and placed second in the 50 and second in the 200. He was sixth in the 100.

Cord Snyder finished seventh in the 50 and 10th in the 100. He was sixth in the high jump.

The 400-meter relay team of Snyder, Xavier Lapp, Adam Ellerkamp and First That Walks finished fourth.

Rebekah Ellerkamp led Culbertson’s middle school girls with a third in the 1600, seventh in the high jump and seventh in the 800. Ayden Ator placed fourth and Kaylee Kohl took ninth in the discus. Peyton Labatte took 10th in the shot put.

Labatte finished sixth and Ivy Colvin took ninth in the 100-meter hurdles. Catherine Donaldson placed fourth in the 1600 and ninth in the 800.

The 400-meter relay team of Labatte, Mariana Burciaga, Kohl and Colvin finished in sixth place.

For Culbertson’s elementary girls, Harper Anderson earned second in the 50, second in the 400, third in the 100 and sixth in the long jump. Morgan O’Daniel placed seventh in the 100. Trinity Pirkle took 10th in the 50 and ninth in the 200.

Kalia Featherson took sixth and Aubry Salvevold was seventh in the 400. Placing in the shot put were Featherston in fourth, Pirkle in eighth and Charity Wilbanks in 10th.

Wilbanks earned third place in the discus. Emilynn Powell took ninth in the high jump. Featherston took 10th in the long jump.

Bainville

The Bainville Bulldogs scored 67 points for middle school girls for third place, seven points for elementary girls for ninth place, 16 points for middle school boys for seventh place and eight points for elementary boys for 10th place.

Rowan Wilson led Bainville’s middle school boys by taking third in the 800, third in the 1600, eighth in the shot put and ninth in the long jump. Kaiden Holmes placed fourth in the 1600 and seventh in the discus.

Parker Berwick earned fourth in the shot put, fifth in the 400, ninth in the long jump and fifth in the discus for Bainville’s elementary boys.

Hailey Berwick led Bainville’s middle school girls by taking first in the 100 at 13.92, first in the 200 at 28.32 and first in the 400 at 1:04.70. She placed third in the long jump.

Also earning first was Lila Butikofer with a best of 90-0 in the discus. She took fifth in the shot put.

Addy Hansen placed second in the discus and shot put. Sienna Martinez placed fifth in the 1600, eighth in the long jump and eighth in the 800. Chandi Johnson took eighth in the discus. Azure Mahoney and Berwick tied for seventh in the high jump.

The 800-meter relay team of Mahoney, Chandi Johnson, Johnna Ryder and Martinez finished sixth.

For Bainville’s elementary girls, Jalynn Bjorge and Emmalyn Anderson tied for fifth place in the shot put. Tenley Berwick took ninth in the shot put.

Bjorge earned fourth in the discus.

Froid/Lake

Froid/Lake scored nine points for middle school girls for ninth place, 42 points for elementary girls for fourth place, 20 points for middle school boys for fifth place and 51 points for elementary boys for third place.

Cody Olson led the middle school boys by taking second in the 200, third in the 100, third in the long jump and seventh in the high jump.

Owen Logan placed ninth in the shot put and 10th in the shot put.

For Froid/Lake’s elementary boys, Carsen Kelm earned first in the 100 at 14.38 and first in the 200 at 29.40 seconds.

Aaron Orozco took eighth and Jacob Nordlund was ninth in the 100. Orozco was fourth and Nordlund placed sixth in the 50.

Taven Jochim finished fifth in the 800 and sixth in the 400. Eli James was eighth in the 800.

Kelm took fifth and Junior Hernandez placed eighth in the shot put. Hernandez took eighth in the discus. Placing in the high jump were Nordlund in fifth and Jochim in ninth.

The 800-meter relay team of Orozco, Nordlund, Jhett Davidson and Kelm finished first at 2:31.02. The 400-meter relay team of Orozco, Nordlund, Davidson and Kelm placed second.

For Froid/Lake’s middle school girls, Lille Barrick placed eighth and Keira Stentoft took ninth in the 100. Stentoft finished ninth in the 200. Vala Gregor took sixth in the 1600 and 10th in the 800.

Sam Ausdin was seventh in the discus. Isabelle Nordwick placed seventh in the high jump. Tying for 10th in the high jump were Nordwick and Barrick.

The 800-meter relay team of Stentoft, Jordyn Breuer, Leah Murray and Nordwick placed fourth. The 400-meter relay of Nordwick, Breuer, Murray and Stentoft took fourth and the relay of Sam Ausdin, Briar Grainger, Haven Martnsen and Barrick placed seventh.

In the elementary girls’ division, Ella Roeder placed fifth in the 50 and fifth in the 100. Joelle Davidson placed fifth in the 400, eighth in the high jump and second in the 800. Ally Johnson took 10th in the 200 and sixth in the high jump.

Camri Salvevold placed second in the shot put and ninth in the long jump.

The 800-meter relay team consisting of Angie Clark, Vannessa Nesbit, Roeder and Becca Nelson finished second.

The 400-meter relay team of Camri Salvevold, Kassidy Mitchell, Becca Nelson and Roeder placed fifth.
