Cowboys Earn Fourth Place At District Meet Cowboys Earn Fourth Place At District Meet

The Culbertson Cowboys earned fourth place with 60 points at the District 2C track meet held in Lambert on Tuesday, May 10.

The top three boys’ teams at the meet with Plentywood with 124 points, Richey/Lambert with 121 and Circle with 61 points.

Top girls’ squads were Plentywood with 114, Savage with 103 and Circle with 79 points.

The Cowgirls placed fifth with 50 points.

Earning second place for the Cowboys were Colin Avance with a best of 132-2, Kobe Nickoloff with a mark of 149-8 and Bridger Salvevold with a time of 25.33 seconds.

The 400-meter relay team featuring Wyatt Snyder, Payton Perkins, Nickoloff and Salvevold finished third with a time of 47.93 seconds.

Salvevold took third at 12.16 seconds and Avance placed third in the shot put at 43-2.

Placing fourth for the Cowboys were James Kirkaldie at 5:32.08 in the 1600 and Justice Bengochea at 41-8 in the shot put.

Nickoloff had a best of 18-10 for fifth place in the long jump. Aiden Perkins earned fifth in the discus at 123-11. Reese Moon took fifth in the 100 at 12.27 seconds. The 1600-meter relay team consisting of Snyder, Kirkaldie, Trevor Miller and Salvevold finished fifth at 4:02.21.

Earning sixth were Moon with a best of 36-7 in the triple jump and Nickoloff with a mark of 122-8 in the discus.

Placing seventh were Moon at 25-8 in the 200, A. Perkins with a mark of 123-11 in the discus, Bengochea with a mark of 122-2 in the discus and Kirkaldie by clearing 5-4 in the high jump.

Dylan Gust cleared 5-2 for eighth place in the high jump. Also earning eighth were Moon with a best of 18-3 in the long jump and P. Perkins with a mark of 38-5 in the shot put.

The Cowgirls’ 400-meter relay team featuring Destiny Thompson, Makena Hauge, Megan Granbois and Autumn Bergum finished first with a time of 54.15 seconds.

Kayli Olson finished third in the 1600 at 6:11.98 and third in the 3200 at 13:32.85.

Granbois cleared 4-10 for second place in the high jump.

Thompson took third in the javelin with a best of 99-11.

Bergum had a solid meet with a fourth in the long jump at 15-7, fourth in the triple jump at 32-1 and fourth in the 100 at 13.71.

Granbois finished sixth in the 200 at 30.55 seconds. Hauge cleared 4-6 for sixth place in the high jump. The 1600-meter relay team of Alicyn Ator, Serenity Wilbanks, Perla Burciaga and Jazzmin Fugere took sixth at 5:56.56.

Taking seventh were Granbois with a best of 86-2 in the javelin and Fugere in the 800 at 3:03.34. Placing eighth were Bergum with a mark of 84-4 in the javelin and Burciaga with a best of 76-8 in the discus.

The Eastern C divisional track meet is scheduled for Thursday, May 19, in Glasgow.
