Wolves, Lady Wolves Take Care Of Business With Wins In Baker

The Wolves and Lady Wolves pocketed non-conference wins in Baker Friday, Jan. 12. The Wolves beat Baker 5947 and the Lady Wolves won 53-47.

Wolf Point dropped a pair to Glendive Tuesday, Jan. 7. The boys’ game final score was 63-45 in Wolf Point and the girls fell 78-40 in Glendive.

“We played fairly well for a quarter and a half, but ran out of gas,” Lady Wolves’ head coach Brent Nygard said of the loss at Glendive.

“[We] had another slow start [in Baker], but once we settled down, we were able to get the ball to the basket,” he said.

“We shot a season-high 28 free throws,” Nygard added.

“So it was nice to see us take it to the basket,” he said.

“We’re 3-5 on the season so far,” Wolves’ head coach Troy Blount said. “We are continuing to build. We’re definitely competing hard, just need to find a way to close out games.”

Blount added, “Proud of my boys. Good things are coming.”
