Steamboat Dry Goods Opens Store In Big Sky

Wolf Point’s Steamboat Dry Goods has announced the opening of a second store at the Residence Inn Town Center in Big Sky.

According to Carolyn Whitmer, plans to open another store have been in the works for a year.

“We’ll have the same products as our main location but with an increased offering of tourist gifts and higher-end apparel,” said Whitmer.

Whitmer managed the Wolf Point location and has relocated to operate the new store in Big Sky. Kelli Hackley has taken over management duties at the main location.

“Both stores will be open year-round,” said Whitmer. “The main location will still be open five days a week. Our Big Sky store will be open seven days a week. Big Sky has two seasons: one in the spring and another in the fall. While many stores take a holiday or redecorate before the summer or snow seasons start, we’ll be open.”

Whitmer told the Northern Plains Independent that the businesses will be closely connected.

“We look at this opportunity as a means to enhance our store at the main location. All products are transferable between locations, making it easy for everyone to support either location.”

A ribbon cutting at the new store is set for Jan. 28 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. It is located at 145 Town Center Ave, Unit A1, in Big Sky.

Steamboat Dry Goods main location is 6182 Hwy 13 in Wolf Point. For more information, call 525-3288. or visit steamboatdrygoods.com.
