Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Report

The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office responded to 63 calls from Dec. 11-18.

Dec. 11

Deputies received a call regarding a possible burglary west of Culbertson. A family reported that someone had broken into a house. The case is under investigation.

Deputies assisted a male who fallen out of his wheelchair in Wolf Point.

Dec. 12

Deputies assisted the Fort Peck Tribes Department of Law and Justice regarding a report of an individual making threats about shooting the Brockton School. Law enforcement spoke with administration. There weren’t any threats on the scene.

Dec. 14

The deputy/coroner responded to a Froid residence for a welfare check. It was discovered that an elderly female had passed away from natural causes. The ambulance and funeral home responded.

Dec. 15 Deputies responded to Fort Kipp after a woman called and yelled for help. Deputies spoke with the female. A suspect was identified. A report is being prepared for tribal court.

Deputies responded to TJ’s Quik Stop in Poplar for a report of an assault regarding a male attacking a female. The suspect couldn’t be located.

Dec. 16

Deputies responded to a report of neighbors arguing on Montana Highway 13, east of Wolf Point.

Deputies were called to Fort Kipp to remove a person. A restraining order was in effect for one of the individuals. One person tested positive for alcohol. Betty Cantrell, 30, was charged with two counts of abuse to children, one count of endangering welfare of an unborn child and protection of a law enforcement officer. She was taken to tribal jail.

Deputies responded to T-Bird Body Shop of Poplar for a fight in progress. Patrick Johnson, 32, was transported to tribal jail.

Deputies received a call that an adult female was laying on the grass in Poplar’s football field area. Iva Longee, 19, was arrested for unlawful consumption of alcohol and hindering law enforcement. She was taken to tribal jail.

Dec. 17

Deputies assisted the Wolf Point Police Department and FPTDLJ regarding a disturbance outside of Town Pump in Wolf Point. A male was yelling and had a knife. The man was located inside of Albertson’s. Andres Moreno was arrested by WPPD.

In addition to the citations above, the RCSO had the following activity: Wolf Point city limits; Poplar city limits, four; Poplar FPHA, four; Poplar airport addition, two; Culbertson town, one; Culbertson rural, three; Bainville town, two; Bainville rural, 10; Froid town, one; Brockton town, two; Brockton rural, six; Fort Kipp, two; total, 59.
