Bulldogs Defeat Terry In Opener

 

The Bainville Bulldogs opened their football season in impressive fashion as the Bulldogs routed Terry, 68-26, on Saturday, Aug. 26.

The visiting Bulldogs struck for the first 16 points of the contest. Cayden Boyd connected with Trevor Robertus on a 23-yard pass for the game’s first touchdown. Alex Strickland kicked the conversion for an 8-0 lead.

Bainville’s next touchdown came on a five-yard pass from Boyd to Sam Butikofer. Strickland’s kick put the margin at 16-0.

The Bulldogs opened the second quarter with a 17-yard touchdown strike from Boyd to Strickland for a 22-6 advantage.

Strickland then caught a four-yard pass from Boyd to put the margin at 28-6.

Bainville increased its lead to 34-6 on a five-yard dash by Reed Winn. Boyd passed to Chuck Butikofer for the conversion and a 35-6 lead.

Boyd hit Robertus on a three-yard pass to put the Bulldogs ahead by a 41-6 lead. Boyd passed to Strickland for the conversion.

After Terry scored on a 45-yard pass play, Bainville’s Boyd hit S. Butikofer with a five-yard pass for a 48-12 halftime advantage.

The Terriers struck first in the third quarter, but an 18yard throw from Boyd to S. Butikofer put the margin at 54-20.

Bainville’s next touchdown came on a seven-yard pass from Boyd to Isaiah Bjorge. Strickland’s kick increased the Bulldogs’ lead to 62-20.

Bainville’s only touchdown of the fourth quarter came on a 15-yard pass play from Rowan Wilson to Strickland.

The Bulldogs will host Froid/Lake on Saturday, Sept. 2.
