William Charbonneau is pleased that he is continuing his law enforcement career with the Wolf Point Police Department.

He has been working for the department for a little more than a month.

“I love it,” he said. “It keeps me busy.”

The Poplar native served in the U.S. Army and then lived in Tennessee where he worked in law enforcement for five years starting in 2014.

He’s glad to be back in Montana and closer to family.

He noted that he appreciates having a job in law enforcement.

“I like the unpredictability of it,” he said.

The police department is currently short of two officers.

For now, Charbonneau is serving as the “cover officer” where he works a variety of shifts.

“It gives me a break from night shift all the time,” he noted.
