Chasing Horse Arrested For Abuse

Nathan Lee Chasing His Horse was arrested at his Las Vegas, Nev., home on Jan. 31 where he is said to have lived with his five wives.

Chasing Horse is known for his role in the Oscar-winning film Dances With Wolves. He was banned from the Fort Peck Reservation in 2018 due to human trafficking allegations.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police were told that Chasing Horse led a cult known as The Circle in the Las Vegas area. Warrants claim that he abused young Indigenous girls after gaining a reputation as a medicine man among tribes across the United States and Canada.

Law enforcement has been investigating the actor since they got a disturbing tip in October 2022. At least six potential victims have been identified and allegations date back to the early 2000s. The incidents allegedly occurred in multiple states including Montana, South Dakota and Nevada.

Chasing Horse was born on the Rosebud Reservation in South Dakota. He has also been accused of sex trafficking, arranging sex with the victims and recording sexual assault. Some of the alleged victims were as young as 13.

The warrant claims that one of his wives was “given” to him as a “gift” at 15 and another became his wife after turning 16.

Firearms were reportedly seized as children were present at the scene, according to area news.

In 2018, Fort Peck tribal leaders voted 7 to 0 to pass an education committee motion to ban Chasing Horse from the Fort Peck Reservation. The motion alleges human trafficking, drug dealing spiritual abuse and intimidation of tribal members.

Chasing Horse, 46, is currently facing charges of sex trafficking, sexual assault and child abuse.
