Culbertson Schools welcomed Glen Disque with the Montana Department of Labor & Industry April 21. According to Wendy Becker, Disque’s focus was to bring resources to the students about the opportunities available through Montana Registered Apprenticeship.

Local representatives from the program included: C& B Operations, Carl Donaldson; First Community Bank, Lori Buxbaum; Sheridan Electric Coop, Josh Johnson and Montana Cooperative Development Center’s Davey Madison and Nicole Borner, among others.

Each business shared about their services and spoke about the kinds of skills employers are looking for. Speakers emphasized the importance of soft skills. In conjunction with Jobs for Montana Graduates and YE curriculum, all representatives expressed how important it is to have a chance to job shadow or do an apprenticeship (or internship).

Following each presentation, students were able to ask questions and then enjoyed some brunch items.
