Poplar Picks Up Points In Baker

The Poplar Indians scored 38 points in the boys’ standings and six points in the girls’ standings during the Baker Invitational track meet on Saturday, April 9.
Kameron Reum led the way for Poplar’s boys as he finished first in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 17.78 seconds. The sophomore ran the 300-meter hurdles in 47.27 seconds for second place.
Kaniel Ricker placed sixth in the 300-meter hurdles at 49.31 seconds. He took eighth in the triple jump at 34-05.
Jase Frederick took eighth in the 1600 at 5:22.42. Geordy Medicine Cloud was ninth in the 400 at 59.46 and Delray Lilley took 10th in the 200 at 25.86.
Poplar’s girls’ 1600-meter relay team featuring Bailey Dupree, Mattie Ayers, Reinita Iziarry and Jazmyn CarryWater placed fifth with a time of 5:34.37.
Teagan Escarcega earned sixth in the discus with a best of 87-01.
Placing seventh were CarryWater with a time of 2:54.76 in the 800 and Dupree at 55.62 in the 300-meter hurdles.
Ayers finished eighth in the 1600 at 6:31.59 and ninth in the 800 at 3:01.06. CarryWater took ninth in the 1600 and Dupree finished 10th in the 100-meter hurdles.
