Lustre Posts Victories Over Bearcubs
The Lustre Christian boys’ basketball squad remained undefeated with a 75-13 home win over Frazer on Saturday, Jan. 8.
The Lions jumped out to a 32-7 lead in the first quarter.
Lustre led 49-13 at the half and 61-13 after three quarters of play.
Jasiah Hambira led the Lions with 19 points. Also reaching double figures were Kolden Hoversland with 15 points and Braden Ewing with 10.
Also scoring for Lustre were Cayden Klatt with nine, Elijah Lenihan with eight, Bryan Chen with four, Clay Reddig with four, Alex Chen with two and Kaleb Hoversland with two. Keein Ackerman scored eight points for the Bearcubs. John Hotomaine scored three and Ty Fourstar added two.
Lustre’s girls experienced a slow start but defeated Frazer by a 51-22 final.
After trailing by a 4-0 score in the first quarter, the Lions outscored Frazer by a 17-2 margin in the second quarter.
Lustre increased its lead to 37-14 in the third quarter.
Leading the Lions to the conference victory were Alexa Reddig with 18, Aubri Hulzrichter with 16 and Grace Brown with 14 points. Hannah Brown added three points.
Scoring for Frazer were Bailey Beston with eight, Isabelle Even with four and Evelyn Yellow Hammer with two points.
