Tie Dye Tourney Features 23 Women’s Golf Teams


The Women’s Tie Dye Tournament attracted 23 teams to the Wolf Point Airport Golf Course on Saturday, July 17.
This was the second straight year that the tournament has been held after not taking place for more than 10 years.
Organizers Tori Matejovsky and Nicole Paulson were excited about the amount of teams.
Golfers for the two-person scramble were from Wolf Point, Poplar, Culbertson, Glasgow and Glendive.
“Hopefully, we will have it annually now,” Matejovsky said.
They note that this year’s women’s golf league has a record number of 29 teams participating.
The team of LaFon Copenhaver and Marj Markie took first place in the tournament with a net score of 60.28.
Placing second with a net score of 62 were Shelby Tatafu and Shandy Moran. Gina Aasheim and Brooke John took third with a net score of 64.88. Whitney Matthews and Mickey Copenhaver earned fourth with a net score of 65.15.
Deb Swanson and Sue Peterson had the tournament’s low gross score with a mark of 69.
Wanda Kirn and Shelly Hopfauf placed second with a gross score of 75.
