Yellow Jackets Prepare For Tournament


Wolf Point ended its American Legion baseball regular- season schedule with home losses against Glendive and the Miles City Mavericks during the weekend.
The Yellow Jackets lost both games against Glendive at home on Friday, July 16, by scores of 14-0 and 27-3.
In the first game, the Blue Devils gained a 7-0 lead during the first two innings.
Glendive led 14-2 after the first inning and 18-2 after the top of the second inning in the second contest.
Wolf Point’s Preston Swenson scored in the bottom of the second when he reached base on a fielder’s choice and then came around on the play on errors.
Against Miles City on Saturday, July 17, the Yellow Jackets fell by scores of 21-1 and 25-4.
In the first game, Miles City scored seven runs in the first and 10 runs in the third inning.
Having Wolf Point hits were Canyon Casterline, Charlie Page, Mitchell Brown and Andrew Dschaak.
Page scored the team’s only run.
Miles City scored 10 runs in the first inning in its 25-4 victory in the second game.
Swenson scored two of Wolf Point’s runs. Page and Mitchell Brown also crossed

the plate.
Wolf Point will open against Laurel at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 22, at the district tournament in Glasgow.
The Yellow Jackets have a record of 1-27 for the season including a victory over Glasgow. Wolf Point enters the tourney as the eighth seed.
The top three seeds are Laurel at 21-7, the Billings Blue Jays at 20-8 and the Miles City Mavericks at 208. Other league records are Glendive at 16-12, Glasgow at 15-13, the Billings Cardinals at 14-14 and the Froid Post #49 Bulls at 5-23.
