Lady Wolves Score Victories During Tennis Action in Great Falls
The Wolf Point Lady Wolves took on many opponents this weekend during the Poplar Invitational held in Great Falls.
“Everyone got better this weekend and enjoyed some well-deserved success,” Wolf Point coach Dan Horsmon said. “I’m very Proud of how hard we are working to get better!”
Demi Kegley went 2-2 for number one singles. She defeated opponents from Fort Benton and Harlem.
Angelica Sutton had a record 0-4 for number two singles.
Serenity Tibbetts-Ross went 2-0 at number three singles before an injury occurred.
Julie Garfield had a 3-2 record. Her losses came during long tie- breaking matches. She beat opponents from Valier, Harlem and Chinook.
Mahala MacDonald won one of five matches, defeating Great Falls High School’s Rebecca Landsrud. For number one doubles, Wolf Point’s Jody Houg/ Makaya SmokerDewitt went 3-2 making it to the consolation round and placing fourth. They defeated teams from Three Forks, Chinook and Great Falls High.
The number two doubles team of Kaylee Johnson/Kaleah Miller-Toves - went 4-1 and advanced into the championship match against Fairfield’s team two. Johnson/Miller- Toves defeated opponents from Fairfield, Harlem, Jefferson and Great Falls CMR. They played a good match, but came up a little short to take second place.
The Wolves tennis team will compete in Baker on Saturday, May 8.
