Wolf Point’s boys scored 21 points and Wolf Point’s girls finished with 10 points during the Sidney Invitational on Saturday, April 24.

Top teams in the boys’ division were Glendive with 86, Lewistown with 71 and Sidney with 57.5 points.

Top girls’ teams were Lewistown with 79 points, Plentywood with 52, Sidney with 46 and Havre with 46.

Zander Ackerman highlighted the day for Wolf Point’s boys.

Ackerman, a senior, finished first in the 800 with a personal best time of 1:59.86. Ackerman placed a very close second in the 1600 with a time of 4:29.89.

Peyton Summers, a freshman, ran the 1600 in 4:58.76 for fifth place.

Kaholo Toves earned sixth in the long jump with a mark of 18-05.

Other highlights for Wolf Point’s boys included Ethan Blount in seventh for the 1600, August Spotted Wolf in seventh for the 3200, Toves in eighth for the 200 and Mason Garfield taking ninth in the discus.

On the girls’ side, sophomore Katelyn MacDonald led the way with a second-place performance in the javelin with a best of 114-09.

Hamyanie Campbell finished fifth in the 1600 with a time of 6:02.20.

Other highlights for the Lady Wolves included Campbell taking eighth in the 1600, Adeia Erickson finishing ninth in the 200 and Joli Beston taking 10th in the 3200.

The Wolves competed at the meet without two of their top athletes as senior Jewel Olson was nursing an injury and Austin Wilson was making a college visit. Wolf Point will travel to Great Falls on Saturday, May 1, to compete against other Class B schools.
