Students Recognized During National Honor Society Induction
Wolf Point High School honored some of its top students during its National Honor Society induction ceremony on Tuesday, Oct. 20.
Principal Kim Hanks said the students are fine examples as far as academics, service, leadership and character.
Inducted during the ceremony were Adalynn Smith, Emmanuel Julio, Cadence Bouldin, Ma’Kenzie Jackson, Tyana Black Eagle, Aniya Smoker, Chaz Kegley, Layla Alvstad, Stephanie Martell, Justyne Martell and Mattie Azure.
Current members are Maya Deserly, Nora Hansen, Owen Moran, Thomas Moudree, Aydyn Azure, Jeina Reum, Kailayla Villaluz, Jesse Reed and Reilly Rees. Villaluz is the chapter’s president. Advisor is Leslie Larson.
Dr. Mary Clark served as guest speaker. The 2017 Wolf Point High School graduate earned her doctorate degree in physical therapy from the University of Mary in 2024.
She told students that she was an active National Honor Society member and that was a big influence for her to volunteer for community service projects. She said the organization helped her connect with friends and leaders.
Clark explained that she, like other students, was anxious to learn the Wolf Point community upon graduation. But the longer that she was away from home, the more she felt the calling to come back.
She said she came back to the area to help set a positive example. She thanked current National Honor Society members for working hard and staying away from negative elements.
The four pillars of National Honor Society are scholarship, service, leadership and growth and character.
Taking part in the candle lighting ceremony were Villaluz, Deserly, Reed, Reum and Moudree.
